Travel connectivity, made legible

Choose the connection
that fits your trip.

A useful eSIM depends on where you’re going, how long you’ll stay, and what you’ll do online. Start with those details; compare the trade-offs before you buy.

What does your trip need?

Choose what matters. The shortlist changes with your answers.

Where are you going?
How long?
How will you use data?
Will you share data?
Do you need a local phone number?

Before you buy: confirm your exact phone model supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked. A provider app cannot add eSIM support to an incompatible device.

South Korea

For a short Seoul trip, decide first whether you need tethering or a Korean voice number. The listed 7-day unlimited plans have different terms; check fair-use and speed policies before treating them as equivalent.

  • Airalo lists 7-day unlimited at $29 USD.
  • Ubigi lists 7-day unlimited at $25 USD.
  • Holafly states 1 GB/day can be shared by hotspot.

Provider pages checked 7 Oct 2026. The two listed plans share an advertised validity and data label, but their speed, fair-use and network terms may differ. Checkout prices can change.

Japan

For a Japan-only trip, compare destination plans with regional plans only when your itinerary crosses borders. One current example is 10 GB for 7 days; check data caps, top-up options and whether tethering is explicitly allowed.

  • Install before departure while you have reliable Wi‑Fi.
  • Keep your home SIM active if you need its number for verification.
  • Check the provider’s coverage and fair-use terms for your route.

Provider plan pages are the source of truth for current prices and coverage.

No mystery rankings.

We compare what a traveler can verify: destination coverage, plan length, data allowance, tethering rules, phone-number support and price. We don’t claim personal testing, customer reviews or earnings we can’t substantiate.

01 A lower listed price only wins when its data and limits fit the trip.

02 “Unlimited” is not the same as unrestricted hotspot data.

03 Recheck the provider’s checkout page before purchase; plans change.

How this site earns.

Some links may become affiliate links. At launch, the provider links on this page are ordinary links. We have not joined or been approved by a provider’s affiliate program, and we do not earn a commission from them today.

If a link becomes tracked, we will label it beside the link. Affiliate compensation will not change the stated plan limits or the criteria in our comparison. Prices and terms are controlled by each provider.

Roam Signals is an independent comparison guide. It is not a telecom provider. Check device compatibility, coverage, fair-use terms, refund policy and the final price directly with the seller.
